Lineville, Alabama
Lineville is a beautiful town located in Clay County, Alabama which can be found in the northeast center of the county. Native Americans were the first to inhabit the area, but with the Creek Indian War of 1813 resulted in their removal. The town of Lineville, also known as “Crooked Creek” was built as the dividing line between Talladega and Randolph Counties. Clay County formed in 1866 then after the town’s name became Lineville in 1870 once it became the temporary seat of government for the County.
